MY NAME IS DR. ALEX ANDERSON, BUT YOU CAN JUST CALL ME ALEX. I AM A DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, WHO IS BOARD CERTIFIED IN ORTHOPAEDIC PHYSICAL THERAPY AND FELLOWSHIP-TRAINED IN ORTHOPAEDIC MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY. I AM DRY NEEDLING CERTIFIED AND ALSO TREAT WOMEN’S HEALTH CONDITIONS.
I am from the D.C. area originally and will always call Maryland home. I also have a special place in my heart for California, as that is where I received my PT education. My Fellowship program at the University of Illinois at Chicago brought me to the midwest, which is where I am currently practicing.
My passion for starting The Physical Therapy Academy is to treat pain and movement dysfunction. I believe we are all meant to move and achieve pain free, efficient movement. This is my goal for all my clients. My knowledge of pain science, motor control, and exercise physiology allows me to incorporate techniques to retrain faulty movement.
In addition to orthopaedics, I also treat a variety of women’s health conditions. Believe it or not, the pelvic floor also consists of muscle, which needs to be strong and functional, just like the rest of the body.
By providing one-on-one, personalized care, I have discovered that better movement is possible for anyone willing to take on the challenge. The best part is that by working together, we can achieve this through thorough, efficient, and effective collaboration. So let’s get in touch and get you on your way to better movement.

MY NAME IS ALYSSA BELL, NICE TO MEET YOU! I GRADUATED FROM THE SOMA INSTITUTE IN CHICAGO AND HAVE BEEN PRACTICING AS A CLINICAL MASSAGE THERAPIST SINCE 2013.
My journey to becoming a massage therapist was inspired by dance and athletics. It was there that I saw a need for pain management and education for physical health in my community. When I educate my clients on the human body, they have the opportunity to improve their habits and daily patterns. Education on pain management is generally misunderstood in our society and my goal is to empower people’s healing journeys within their own bodies through massage therapy and providing education about the healing process.
To strengthen my craft, I became certified as a Classical Pilates Instructor in 2017. My collaborative work with other practitioners such as, chiropractors, trainers, athletes and physical therapists has also assisted in professional growth.
As I hold great value in the healing power of organized movement, I continue to enjoy dance classes, group exercise, meditation, and the spa. My goal is to restore balance to the body and mind for improved everyday life.
I’m proud to say I have competed in the 1st Illinois massage Championships of 2023 and won 2nd place in clinical massage therapy. Additionally, I also competed in the 2024 Illinois championships taking 1st place in clinical, 3rd place in wellness and 3rd over all.
